ATTENTION: OWW1 ROAD REPAVING, JULY 7—11
From July 7, 2025, through July 11, 2025, BLACKTOP NORTHWEST LLC will be chip-sealing all of the roads in OWW1, with the exception of Heierman Drive, (which was repaved in 2023.)
Chip-Seal Process:
- Surface Prep: Remove debris, sod, soil, and loose material from road surface.
2.Pothole and Surface Repair: Pre-fill potholes and unraveled areas with chip seal oil and chip stone to establish a stable base.
- Chip Seal Oil Application: Apply chip seal oil over entire road surface.
- Chip Stone Application: Distribute chip stone over entire prepared road surface.
- Rolling and Compaction: Employ a rubber tire pneumatic roller to compact the chip stone, simulating vehicular traffic and advancing proper embedment.
What to Expect After Paving is Done:
After the project is finished, there will still be considerable loose chip stone on the road surface. This is normal, and requires several weeks of vehicular traffic to cause the stones to become permanently embedded.
What We Can Do, Post-Paving:
- Please lower your driving speed to prevent loose gravel from being kicked up.
- Above All: Be patient! As mentioned, this post-paving period will require some time for the chip stone to become fully embedded, which will result in extended, useful life for our roads.
