Laura Miller, UDRC Board member will present her experiences providing wildfire camp services during the record breaking 2024 Oregon wildfire season. The annual UDRC Board meeting open to the public will follow Laura’s presentation.
Community Assessor Training Class
Melissa Steele and Eric Metzger are offering a Home Ignition Zone Assessor Training Class on Wednesday, February 19, 6:00 – 7:00 PM at the Bend Fire Department’s South Station, 61080 Country Club Dr, Bend Oregon. The class will focus on the home ignition zone, home protection strategies and ways to prevent ember intrusion. The class is open to anyone interested in learning how to assess the vulnerability of homes to wildfire. Email Melissa if you are interested in attending the class: msteele@bendoregon.gov
